no fault divorce

A divorce in which the dissolution of the marriage does not require fault on either husband or wife to be shown. A party can petition the court, typically a family court by without the requirement that the petitioner prove fault on the part of the other party. The husband or wife may request and be granted the dissolution of the marriage. This can occur regardless of any objections the other party may have.
